SPECIALISTS IN FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

A wide range of piping and mechanical equipment structural studies, including static, modal, harmonic, transient, seismic spectrum, and buckling analyses. Transient analyses include formulations for rigid body mechanisms analysis, mixed rigid/flexible analyses, and implicit and explicit solutions for high deformation or high velocity phenomena. Structural problems involving geometric nonlinearity and all possible configurations of contact in addition to having the capabilities of comprehensive library of linear and nonlinear material models and the ability to link heat transfer capabilities such as convection, conduction and radiosity to structural analyses. SPECIALISTS IN PIPING STRESS ANALYSIS

Unique solutions for process, power, oil and gas, nuclear, underground, offshore floating, production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) platform and subsea pipeline areas with the potential to address at least 25 international piping codes. Advanced solutions include the capabilities to include built-in wave loading, buried pipeline analysis, jacketed piping, dynamic loadings, orthotropic fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP/GRP), and HDPE plastic piping analysis. Additional types of piping solutions include thermal stratification or bowing, thermal transient, pipe/structure interaction, fluid transient with closure time and relief valve utilities, advanced load sequencing, non-linear support gaps and friction, and jacketed piping. Local stress calculations performed in accordance with WRC 107, WRC 297, PD 5500, KHK, and API 650.

SPECIALISTS IN HIGH ENERGY PIPING & EOR

Antaal-Williams Engineering Consultants Ltd.’s staff engineers have designed, analyzed, and provided fabrication support for a wide variety of high temperature piping systems for the refinery, petrochemical, and the nuclear and conventional power industries. While there are several recognized piping analysis tools available on the market, detailed and rigorous analyses of piping attachments (including, but not limited to lugs and trunnions) are one of our fortes. Antaal-Williams Engineering Consultants Ltd. utilizes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and closed form solutions to address the potential for steam hammer and other high-energy, dynamic events within judiciously selected regions of the piping system. In addition, Antaal-Williams’s staff members hold numerous U.S. patents in the design of high temperature superheated (SHS) steam generator systems for use in both small modular (nuclear) reactor systems and upstream Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) systems. The EOR SHS components are designed specifically for the extraction of heavy oils in deep wells (those over 5000 ft in depth) and can be employed in either existing wellbores or green-field installations where thermal stimulation is highly desirable.
